The AHA Transformer is designed as a slide-on unit mounted onto the load bay of a bakkie. Because of this, it’s unfortunately not fully wheelchair-friendly. Access is via three wide steps, which can be a challenge for some.
That said, many people with mobility limitations still find the AHA manageable. The new wider step design, with a sturdy support pole acting as a side rail, makes entry more secure and stable. We’ve had clients with prosthetic legs, as well as hip and shoulder challenges, who are able to use the camper comfortably.
The AHA Trailer Option
For wheelchair users, the AHA Trailer opens up a whole new possibility. The trailer includes a ground-level double bed inside, making it far easier for someone with a wheelchair to access and enjoy. This means families or groups that include someone with mobility challenges can still camp together without compromise.
Final Thought
While the slide-on camper itself isn’t designed for wheelchair use, the AHA Trailer now makes it possible for everyone — including those with wheelchairs — to enjoy the same comfort and adventure.
